2522 AT-6 Texan Nano-Racer
The full-size
The AT-6 can trace its origins back to the T-6, which first flew in prototype form in 1935. The AT-6 served as a single-engined trainer for US Navy fighter pilots. The machine's maximum speed was around 335 km/hr. Today the AT-6 Texan is a very popular aircraft at Air Days and the Reno Air Race.
The model
In model form the AT-6 Texan also makes a big impression. The AT-6 Nano-Racer boasts a realistic scale appearance in the air thanks to its distinctive canopy, and the relatively large wingspan compared with the fuselage length. The large wing area makes the AT-6 a trainer with good handling for its size as well as an excellent racer. The model is based on a one-piece foam moulding incorporating fuselage and wings. The wing features a carbon fibre spar for additional strength, making it an excellent choice both for racing and aerobatics.
