Scale model in 1:5
A dream comes true! The legendary Minimoa is back - as a model!
The Minimoa was the first high-performance glider in the world to be built in series production. From 1935 to 1939, 110 aircraft of this type left the Schempp-Hirth sports aircraft factory in Kirchheim-Teck.
Our model was completely redesigned on a scale of 1:5 according to original plans from 1936. The V-shape of the articulated wing with slightly drooping outer wings is prototypical. All dimensions, rib spacing and planking correspond to the original. Like the prototype, the model is of wooden construction. Later modifications to the Minimoa, such as camber brakes and enlargement of the rudder, were not carried out on the model in order to be faithful to the original.
The scale kit contains all wooden parts necessary to build the model, punched out of balsa or plywood, as well as all moulding and accessory material, but no wheel, covering material, glue or paint.
