The Two Meter Thermal Glider is one of the most rewarding aircraft models for modelers - nothing compares to peaceful relaxation flying in mild conditions, circling in thermals under clouds, and quiet flying in the evening where you can sit back and watch your elegant model fly almost on its own.... "Two-meter gliders" with controllable rudder, elevator and airbrake with rubber high launch device have their special competition category, where it is not about life, but about flying with similarly tuned modelers.

"Two-meter gliders" are also ideal for those who want to start building their own models in the classic way from balsa, plywood and spruce strips. Making is quite fast, there is not so much to do, but you will learn all the basic techniques required for larger and more complicated models. And if you make something wrong for the first time, a new piece of balsa will be enough to fix the failed work.

Model RESCO was designed and is manufactured in the Czech Republic.

The kit of the high-performance thermal glider with the classic, very light all-balsa construction, which you can easily convert to the drive with a brushless motor AXI 2208-2212. RESCO is an ideal project for modelers who want to learn how to build models and control beginner airplane models with controllable rudder and elevator. By the way, RESCO could also be your very first RC model. Thanks to the excellent construction with CNC cut parts that have notches and protrusions that fit together like pieces of a puzzle, the assembly is very fast and easy. At the same time, RESCO is a "thoroughbred competition model" with which you can successfully compete for a "podium" in the category F3-RES 2M. Regarding the fact that recently a more orthodox interpretation of the rules is promoted, we present RESCO in a modified, pure version with a wooden pylon for the tailplane.

The front part of the fuselage is made of a balsa gondola and light plywood; the core is a simple construction with balsa sidewalls and with plywood spars. The place for the rudder and elevator servo is located in the fuselage under the removable canopy. The tailplane of the fuselage consists of a carbon tube beam with a glued pylon and a core of lightweight plywood reinforced with balsa to secure the horizontal stabilizer.

The three-piece wing with a modified AG airfoil has a classic construction with balsa ribs and with a fixed planking of the D-box in the center. The main girder is made of spruce strips with a balsa construction, which guarantees high strength of the structure with a very low weight. Ears with elegant winglets connect to the middle part with carbon connectors and beech pins with magnets as a fuse. There is an airbrake in the center section - we do not recommend leaving it out, especially if you are building a "pure" glider. You attach the wing to the fuselage with plastic screws.

The planar tailplane is made of CNC-cut balsa parts. The elevator tail is removable for easy transport and is attached with plastic screws. The rudders are controlled with Bowden cables.

You can cover this model with iron-on film - e.g. the transparent Oracover® film for hobby flying. If you are building a competition model, use a lightweight foil Oralite®, covering paper or similar materials.

To control the model, you need at least a 3-channel RC set (for a "pure" glider without brakes, a 2-channel set is enough). Common 9-15g microservos with an actuating force of 1.5-2 kg.cm are sufficient for you.

For powering the on-board electronics of a competition model, it is ideal to use a 4-cell NiMH AAA ENELOOP 800 mAh battery pack.
