KAVAN L-39 Skyfox 1088mm - grey

Item number: KAV02.8095
EAN: 8596450100954

L-39 Skyfox is a military training jet aircraft and light combat aircraft developed and manufactured by the Czech company Aero Vodochody.
It is the successor to the legendary L-39 Albatros aircraft.
Although the L-39 Skyfox retains the successful basic concept of its predecessor, it has a completely new design with composite materials, a modern twin-shaft turbofan engine and the latest avionics including HUD displays.
The new ‘wet’ wing with integral fuel tank makes Skyfox instantly recognisable
the characteristic Albatros wingtip tanks are no longer present.
L-39 Skyfox is powered by the economical Williams International FJ44-4M twin-shaft turbofan engine, which reduces operating costs to the level of turboprop training aircraft.
Five external attachment points under the wing and fuselage can carry up to 1360 kg of load:
- 2 auxiliary fuel tanks
- Container with 12.7 mm machine guns
- 20 mm cannons or unguided rockets
- 227kg Mk. 82 bombs
- GBU-12 Paveway laser-guided bombs
- CATM training missiles or AIM-9 Sidewinder self-guided short-range air-to-air missiles
- Container with reconnaissance equipment etc.

Series production of L-39 Skyfox began in May 2023 with aircraft for the Czech, Hungarian and Vietnamese air forces.
At the same time, the modernisation programme for the original L-39 Albatros with Skyfox engines and avionics is underway.
The Czech training jet aircraft will not disappear from the skies in the coming years... And now you can enjoy flying with the semiscale of this beautiful aircraft with a wingspan of 1088 mm, which is powered by an 80 mm impeller and powerful brushless motor.

The fuselage of the model is made of highly durable EPO (extruded polyolefin) foam with strong internal carbon fibre reinforcements.
An 80 mm impeller with a C3552-2000 brushless electric motor, KAVAN R-100SB Plus speed controller and powerful BEC, which is required to power 8 servos on board, is installed in the rear part of the fuselage.
Access to the impeller and motor is via a removable upper tail unit support (including tail units), which is secured with screws.
The cabin cover is removable and is secured at the front with a pin and at the rear with a mechanical latch.
There is enough space in the cabin compartment for a drive battery and a receiver.

The one-piece wing of the model is made of EPO foam with carbon fibre strips and a tubular carbon fibre connector.
The wing is attached with screws.
The ailerons and flaps are always controlled independently by two servos with short straight wire rods.
There are also functional position lights and LED landing lights.

The tail surfaces are also made of EPO foam. The rudder and elevator servos are located in the fin and fuselage.
The rudders are controlled by short straight rods.
The undercarriage is a retractable tricycle undercarriage with a steerable nose leg. All legs are spring-mounted telescopic legs.

The model is powered by an 80 mm impeller with 11-blade rotor and C3552-2000 brushless motor with 100 A KAVAN R-100SB Plus controller.
For the power supply you need a LiPo 6-cell pack with a capacity of 3700-5000 mAh and a minimum load capacity of 40C (but preferably 60C).
Choose a specific type so that the correct centre of gravity is as good as possible without additional ballast.

You can also use a 6-channel computerised RC set without special functions to control the model.
In the basic version, the ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevator and the servo of the nose leg are only ever connected to one channel via a connection plate in the cabin.
The plate also provides the power supply for the LED lights. The connected sequencer controls the retractable undercarriage.
Of course, the instructions also include a detailed table with a proven standard setting of the control surface deflections so that you can easily prepare L-39 for flight, even if it is your first model with ‘full mechanisation’ of the wing.

The ARF set includes
- The finished fuselage
- Wings and tailplane made of EPO foam with a built-in 80 mm impeller with motor
- ESC
- 8 servos
- LED lights
- An instruction manual.
