The Cessna 182 from FMS is a highly detailed powered aeroplane with a 1500 mm wingspan, which not only impresses with its true-to-life appearance, but also with its extremely realistic flight characteristics. The PNP model comes almost ready to fly out of the box with built-in electronics.

The prototype
The Cessna 182 is a small single-engine propeller aeroplane that first appeared in 1956 and whose development was based on the Cessna 180. Due to its excellent stability, reliability, versatility, flexibility and ease of handling, the Cessna 182 plays an important role in general aviation. It is used in various areas such as private flying, flight training, business travel, aerial photography, air patrols, geographical surveys and emergency medical rescue.

The model
Officially licensed by Textron Innovations, the FMS Cessna 182 with a wingspan of 1500 mm corresponds to the long-standing product philosophy of FMS: "Perfect appearance, excellent performance." Visually, the new Cessna 182 sets new standards in terms of realism for foam aircraft. Scale details such as cockpit windows, cabin interior, aerials, exhaust vents, propellers and navigation lights are faithfully reproduced. While the appearance has been meticulously reproduced, the flight characteristics of the Cessna 182 have also been reproduced.

Thanks to high-strength, lightweight EPO materials and a high-wing structure with a large wing area, the aircraft has a low wing loading and a high lift resistance ratio. With flaps activated, the FMS Cessna 182 can be precisely controlled even at low speeds and short take-offs and landings (STOL) - it takes off on the ground within three metres and flies effortlessly at half throttle in the air.

The aircraft has a tripod landing gear with shock absorption and large, wear-resistant tyres that can withstand heavy landings, so beginners can practice take-offs and landings with confidence. In accordance with international navigation light standards, LED lights are integrated on both wings, at the rear of the fuselage and at the tip of the vertical stabiliser to ensure carefree take-offs and landings in poor lighting conditions and increase realism. Robust plastic struts give the wings additional strength during aerobatic manoeuvres.

In addition, the design of the Cessna 182 reflects FMS' consistent approach to product development - rigorous and meticulous. The model utilises a practical snap-lock structure, an integrated servo connector design and a ball-and-socket linkage for the control surfaces. These measures not only ensure the strength and stability of the aircraft, but also greatly simplify assembly on the flying field so that the fun of flying can be enjoyed in no time. The PNP configuration includes a 3541-KV840 brushless motor, a 40A brushless ESC and seven precision 9g digital servos for ailerons, landing flaps, nose wheel control, rudder and elevator. All the electronics are already installed and wired in the model ready to fly.

What is particularly pleasing is that the 1500mm Cessna 182 can be equipped with the Reflex V3 stabilisation system (sold separately), which can be connected via Bluetooth and unlocks user-defined tuning functions. After downloading the app, you can choose between standard or customised modes depending on your preference.
