ASW-17 3.5m D-Box

The ASW 17 from Schleicher can be seen as a further development of the ASW 12. The ASW 12 was a one-off. The ASW 17 was intended to be suitable for series production.
During the series construction of the ASW 17, the experiences with the GRP standard class aircraft ASW 15 were also incorporated.

The semi-scale model of the ASW 17 performance glider stands out due to its very good gliding characteristics. Our ASW 17 was designed for slope flying and thermalling in demanding wind conditions. The ASW 17 is also manufactured in full GRP shell technology (D-Box) and stiffened in the wing with a carbon fibre spar. The maximum prefabrication of all parts allows a quick and easy RC installation. With little effort, the ASW 17 can also be equipped electrically.
